Made in Japan Quality
ametsuchi is a brand born in Japan—a beauty line that embraces Japanese culture by harnessing the power of nature and carefully utilizing traditional Japanese ingredients to create a fresh experience. We create products of exceptional quality by utilizing premium Japanese ingredients and manufacturing them in strictly controlled Japanese factories. The creative partnership / or collaboration between Matsumoto, a globally recognized designer with Japanese roots, and Sari, a talented perfumer, incorporates the traditional Japanese wisdom into the present, enriched with modern values. ametsuchi offers a journey of cultural and sensory discovery, bringing a new richness to all who experience it.
Hinoki Wood: Timeless Essence
Founded in 2024, ametsuchi’s signature fragrance is derived from the natural oil of the Japanese Hinoki tree, creating a delicate, luxurious collection crafted exclusively in Japan. This distinct Japanese Hinoki scent not only relaxes and refreshes the mind but also offers antibacterial properties that revitalize the skin. When the essence of Hinoki fills the air, it evokes the feeling of being in a forest, surrounded by trees, bringing a sense of calm and happiness to daily life. Revered as the “tree of life,” Hinoki has been used for centuries in Japanese shrines and temples, enriching lives through its presence in sacred spaces. Continuing this deep-rooted tradition, ametsuchi promotes a more fulfilling life by harnessing nature’s power.
They tell us.
'The moment you experience it, you will know.'
Yumi Founder
Born in Japan and now living in America, I am deeply inspired by the Japanese tradition of respecting nature and bringing its blessings into daily life. At Ametsuchi, we take pride in sharing this heritage with others, bringing the culture of Japan to the United States. Our gentle, Japanese-sourced ingredients are crafted to address your needs, while our carefully selected fragrances offer an experience reminiscent of a peaceful, elegant forest bath in a Japanese woodland. We see this as our expression of omotenashi—our hospitality to you. Through Ametsuchi, we hope to bring a new richness to your life.
Matsumoto Kazuya Creative Director
In Japan, there is an ancient form of the Japanese language known as Yamato Kotoba, characterized by words that evoke the five senses. The Yamato Kotoba term Ametsuchi (天地) signifies 'all things that grow on Earth.'" The design concept of Ametsuchi, crafted with natural materials, centers on "light." This light, illuminating all that grows on this Earth, symbolizes abundance. Ametsuchi was created with the hope that everyone touched by its light will feel enriched.

Sari Perfumer / Kahoritotomoni
I was deeply inspired by the founder's words, who brings a unique Japanese sense of care, beauty, and unparalleled moments to life. Her vision led me to reconsider how to reinterpret the essence of Japan for the future, particularly through fragrance. Ametsuchi’s signature scent, hinoki, was created to express the tranquility and light found in nature. It was important for me to craft a fragrance that speaks to the “Zen” mindset, where the subtle yet profound aroma of hinoki leaves a lasting impression, embodying the peaceful spirit and depth I wanted to convey.
